About Us

Our history

Our story began when we looked around our community and saw neighbors having to use outdoor spigots for basic hygiene. It was a clear, urgent sign that things had to change. We didn't wait for a solution to appear; we got together, brainstormed, and built the first homeless shelter in the area, the only resource of its kind within a 90-mile radius.

From those grassroots beginnings, we’ve evolved into a full-spectrum service center. While we maintain a deep, foundational connection to that original shelter, which is now managed by the Tribe, our focus has expanded to address the challenges our people face every day.

Being 100% Native-led and staffed isn't just a statistic for us; it means our work is grounded in lived experience. We understand the historical trauma that impacts our community because we’ve lived it, and we use that insight to provide care coordination that actually works. We aren't just navigating systems; we’re working to heal them, ensuring that no one in our community is left to fend for themselves at a spigot ever again.

Our mission

Our mission is to link and secure homeless and at-risk individuals and families with the supportive resources they need to find self-sufficiency and, ultimately, to eradicate homelessness in our community.
